❤️ Bodhi and the Bamboo Maze ( Chapter 1 )

The Beginning of Strong Roots
The morning in the Zenmist Jungle began quietly.
Soft mist drifted between the tall bamboo stalks while the first golden sunlight slowly touched the forest floor.
Dewdrops sparkled on the grass.
Birds sang their first morning songs.
The jungle was waking up.
Bodhi the panda stretched his paws and looked around the great bamboo forest where he loved to walk.
When the wind moved through the tall green bamboo, the stalks made soft clicking sounds.
Tok… tok… tok…
Almost like the jungle was whispering secrets.
Bodhi smiled.
He loved that sound.
Today he decided to walk a little further than usual.
Just to see what else the jungle might be hiding.
So he stepped onto a narrow path between the bamboo.
Slowly he walked deeper into the forest.
The bamboo grew taller.
Thicker.
Closer together.
The path twisted and curved between the green stalks.
Bodhi looked up.
The bamboo was so tall that it almost hid the sky.
“Wow…” he whispered.
It felt like walking through a green tunnel.

Bodhi kept walking.
A little further.
And a little further.
But after some time something strange happened.
The path began to look different.
He turned around.
The way behind him looked exactly like the way in front of him.
Bodhi looked left.
He looked right.
Everywhere he looked there was bamboo.
Tall green walls.
His belly began to feel a little funny.
“Hmmm…”
He turned around again.
But every path looked the same.
Then he said quietly:
“I think… I might be a little lost.”
The wind rustled softly through the leaves.
The bamboo clicked gently together.
The forest suddenly felt much bigger.
And much quieter.

Bodhi began walking faster.
Maybe he could find the path again.
He turned left.
Then right.
Then left again.
But every path led to more bamboo.
More tall green stalks.
It really felt like a maze.
“A bamboo maze…” Bodhi muttered.
His heart began to beat a little faster.
“What if I can’t find my way back?”
Just as he stepped forward, his paw caught on a thick root sticking out of the ground.
“Whoa!”
Bodhi jumped sideways and planted his paws firmly on the ground to keep from falling.
He stood still for a moment.
His paws steady on the earth.
And then something incredible happened.
The bamboo leaves above him began to glow.
Bodhi looked up.
The leaves were no longer green.
They were turning red.
Warm red.
Deep red.
Small red flowers appeared along the path.
Even the mist between the bamboo stalks shimmered with a crimson glow.
Bodhi’s eyes grew wide.
“What’s happening to the jungle?”
He took a careful step backward.
And suddenly the red color disappeared.
The bamboo turned green again.
Bodhi blinked.
He stepped forward.
And the jungle turned red again.
Another step.
Red.
One step sideways.
Green.
Red.
Green.
Bodhi began stepping around the path.
And every time he planted his paws firmly on the ground…
the bamboo forest glowed warm red around him.

Slowly Bodhi began to notice something.
Whenever he ran around nervously…
the red glow disappeared.
But whenever he stood still…
steady and strong…
the jungle turned red again.
Bodhi took a slow breath.
He placed his paws firmly on the ground.
The bamboo leaves glowed red once more.
The red light felt warm.
Safe.
Steady.
Almost like the jungle was telling him something.
Stand strong.
Like the roots of the bamboo.
Bodhi smiled.
Maybe being lost wasn’t quite so scary after all.
And just then he heard something new.
Plop.
Bodhi tilted his head.
Plop… plop.
Water.
His ears lifted.
He carefully followed the sound through the bamboo.
The forest slowly began to open.
The bamboo grew thinner.
The air smelled fresh and cool.
And suddenly the bamboo forest ended.
In front of him a small river flowed gently through the jungle.
Flowers grew along the riverbank.
Butterflies floated above the water.
Bodhi looked at the river.
He still didn’t know where he was.
And he still didn’t know the way home.
But now he had discovered something new.
A river.
Bodhi watched the water flowing deeper into the jungle.
“Maybe I can follow the river,” he said softly.
He looked back once more at the bamboo maze.
Then at the river again.
Bodhi took a deep breath.
And began walking slowly along the riverbank…
deeper into the Zenmist Jungle.
❤️ What Red Means
In the Zenmist Jungle, the color red stands for Strong Roots.
Just like bamboo has deep roots that hold it firmly in the earth, we can also feel strong and steady when we stay calm and grounded.
Red reminds us that we can stay strong…
even when things feel a little scary or confusing.
When Bodhi planted his paws firmly on the ground, he felt his Strong Roots.
And the jungle showed him that strength by glowing red.
